Today we enjoyed an assembly called the Diversity Circus sponsored by the BFA. Children learned that it's okay to be different and to include others when possible. The circus introduced important lessons in a very entertaining way. Our friends Pravit and Leah were lucky enough to be chosen as participants for today's performance.

We loved meeting with our buddies to complete our first challenge. Our mission was to build a house strong enough to survive the Big Bad Hair dryer! However, we were only given index cards and tape. We learned through many trials that we needed to change designs or add things to make our structures strong. We love celebrating birthdays with our classmates! We started with the birthday dance and enjoyed donuts after. Happy Birthday Jules!
Today we learned how to use the drawing tools in Seesaw. We each created a math problem and then recorded ourselves solving the problem. Please be sure to look at your child's portfolio.
We are working hard on our communities. We learned that every community has places to live, work, play and solve problems. Groups formed and decided if they wanted to build urban, suburban or rural communities. We are looking forward to finishing up next week.
We are busy learning about different types of communities. We formed groups to make a community where people live, work, play and solve problems. Each group is busy planning what to include in their community. More pictures to come of the building!
Our assistant Nora reviews equations with the class. She helped us practice facts when adding ten to a given number.
Today we had a bus evacuation drill and learned important bus safety rules. We learned we should always sit on our bottoms when riding. We also learned about the possible ways to get off a bus if the need arises. We learned about the rooftop hatch and the side windows. We pretended the bus was in an accident and we escaped through the back door. The kids enjoyed sitting and pushing off the back. Today we learned about our friend Nathan. We learned that he would like to one day become a pro baseball player. He once hit 6 home runs in one game! I think he's on his way! We also learned that Nathan can do magic tricks. He shows us a trick and turned a red feather into a rainbow feather. The kids were in awe! We also learned that Nathan's grandma has 17 dogs! We loved learning about our new friend and look forward to getting to know him better! Mrs. Wagner was our Mystery reader today. One of her clues she shared prior to coming to read was that she could juggle. She showed off her juggling skills! We enjoyed the Pout Pout Fish and Children Make Terrible Pets.
