We learned about pollination today in a fun and creative way! Students each received a juice box along with a paper flower. The juice box served as the nectar in the flower. They also had a pile of cheetohs on their desk. They were asked to eat cheetohs and fly from flower to flower around the room. While at each flower they could begin to see the cheese fall off their fingers and get all over the flowers. What a fun way to learn about pollination!

We have also practiced our fluency by reading fables and performing them for our 5th grade buddies. This week we focused on the moral of the story and the lesson we’ve learned. We have started to read the book, Eight Class Pets Plus One Squirrel Divided by One Dog Equals Chaos. The chapters each introduce a new character with great detail and children record what they think the character looks like and the setting. Please look for this skill sheet to come home soon.
